Lazy Weekends

I don’t know about you but no matter how much you love your job, when Friday 5pm hits the sigh of relief is palatable. My plans this weekend were to recoup and restore and possibly even manage to get dressed. Somehow even the simplest laid plans get sidelined. By noon on Saturday¬†I had accomplished:

  • animals fed and sorted for the day
  • post office errands
  • 3 loads of washing
  • 2 dishwasher loads
  • 9 jars of lemon marmalade made from the fresh lemons from my 92 year old neighbour’s tree which she had left on my doorstep
  • a batch of homemade brownies
  • a batch of sweet and sour vegetables with rice

I think my 2pm nap was well earned!

Even though I was seeking some serenity this weekend and I had planned that would eventuate on the sofa in my pjs being climbed on by two kittens and an almost 6 year old rescue cavalier, my r&r came in the form of getting things done. Producing things I wouldn’t normally make.

So here are a few moments from my day to get you inspired to take a few hours to yourself, whether that is in your pjs for the day, taking a walk, or getting things done in peace and quiet.
